Importing data is essential to get started with Mapview. There are a few ways data can be imported into Mapview:
- From the 'Contacts' application: this option is great if you store your data in external sources, such as Outlook or Gmail and link the sources to your iOS devices. All edits you make to the contacts in Mapview will be synced back to the main source. This is a great way to make sure you always have a backup of your data. Just remember that if you do not have your contacts sorted into groups you may end up importing personal contacts as well.
- By importing a spreadsheet: importing a spreadsheet is a great option if you manage your contacts in a spreadsheet or want to import data from a source that does not link to your device address book, such as a CRM. Once imported, data will be stored locally in Mapview's database and will not link to any external sources. Data will be backed up if you subscribe to a Basic or Pro plan.
- By importing data from Salesforce: if your company has purchased a Mapview for Salesforce license from the AppExchange, you can import data directly from Salesforce. All changes made to your Salesforce data in Mapview will be synced back into Salesforce.
